Colin Clahane spearheads the insurance program for BMO on a national basis. Colin works closely with the broker community offering lending solutions to meet requirements along the full brokerage life cycle, including all event-based financing considerations: succession, acquisition, working capital, equity recapitalizations, etc. He has assumed the primary contact role for BMO’s insurance lending program to enhance competency and credibility levels amongst external stakeholders such as brokers, carriers and provincial associations.
Before joining BMO, Colin worked for Intact Insurance as a senior director where he spearheaded initiatives to grow the broker distribution channel via private equity and debt investments. He has sat on numerous large scale brokerage boards and partnered with provincial insurance associations in various capacities. He was selected by multiple property & casualty trade magazines to engage in succession plan & valuation discussions, along with publishing several articles. He has worked in several financial realms, including investment banking, large corporate lending, strategic planning, transaction advisory and sell-side equity research. Over the course of his career, he has provided M&A advisory services, structured debt financing/loan syndications, raised private equity, advised on corporate restructurings, and performed extensive financial forecasting/corporate valuations.
